About the Animals & Nature pack

Ask a room to name a mammal and you will hear dog, cat and elephant in the first three seconds. Animals are a perfect rare-answer category because the obvious animals are very obvious and the real catalogue of life is enormous. Okapi, aardvark and pangolin are all genuine mammals, and each one lives a few zones below the pets.

The Animals & Nature pack spans mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, sea creatures, fish, sharks, whales, dog and cat breeds, horses, trees, flowers and dinosaurs. Many prompts have sub-families that you can mine, such as terrier breeds for dogs or raptors for birds. Common names are accepted along with the regular alternates, so Mountain Lion and Puma both count where they apply.

Think in groups when you are stuck. If bird comes to mind, walk through water birds, then birds of prey, then garden birds, then tropical species. Each pass surfaces a handful of answers you would otherwise miss. The Abyss entries tend to be proper oddities, the kind of animal you only meet in a documentary or a field guide, which makes finding one feel properly earned.
